Review independently
Choose the writing you genuinely think is better for the stated task. Selecting both passages and choosing “Both are bad” are valid outcomes. Do not coordinate votes, use automated voting, create duplicate accounts, or try to uncover hidden source identities.
Quality over volume
Rate limits, validation, provisional ratings, and contribution rules protect the benchmark. A submitted review may be accepted, held for validation, or receive no points. ToneBench does not promise a specific number of assignments, points, badge, title, or leaderboard position.
Your contribution
You allow ToneBench and Towards AI to store, analyze, and publish aggregates derived from your selections and to use optional feedback to improve evaluation methods. Public aggregate results do not expose your assignment history. Do not put confidential, personal, or third-party restricted material in optional feedback.
Community profile
Public leaderboard participation is optional. If you opt in, only the public profile fields and contribution statistics described in the privacy summary may appear. Keep profile names, bios, and links accurate and non-abusive.
Service changes and access
ToneBench may adjust validation, qualification, point, badge, title, and ranking methods as the research program evolves. Access may be limited to protect participants, the benchmark, or the service. Material method changes should be explained where results are published.
Account choices
You can export or delete your signed-in account from the profile page. Deletion removes live profile identity and access while retaining a pseudonymized, internally linkable benchmark-integrity record. A keyed provider-identity HMAC prevents the same sign-in from creating fresh reviewer reputation for 180 days; see the privacy summary for the full retention boundaries.
